TAP group board of directors meet in Porto

  • The company’s directors met in the Casa de Serralves
  • On 25 March, TAP is beginning new routes from Porto to Milan, Barcelona, London City and Ponta Delgada, offering an additional 41 flights each week
  • A TAP advertising campaign promoting Porto is under way in London and a campaign to promote Porto in Barcelona is in the pipeline
  • The airline is going to repeat this act of decentralisation and hold more of its Board meetings in other cities and regions of the country

The Board of Directors of TAP SGPS today met in the Casa de Serralves, Porto – the first time one of these meetings has been held outside the company’s headquarters in Lisbon.

This initiative to decentralise the TAP Group Board of Directors’ meetings is to be repeated in other parts of the country to bring the company closer to, and provide it with better knowledge of the realities and needs of Portugal’s main cities and regions.

TAP recently announced its services to and from Porto were to be enhanced with the launch of new routes to Barcelona, Milan, London City and Ponta Delgada, with the provision of an additional 41 weekly flights and an increase in its presence at Francisco Sá Carneiro airport.

From 25 March, TAP’s operations at Porto airport will grow strongly. The airline has started two flights a day to Barcelona and Milan, reinstating and improving two routes that were suspended in 2016 as part of the operation redesign then under way. In addition to reinstating these routes, TAP has begun operating six flights a week between Porto and London City airport and a new daily service to Ponta Delgada.

A campaign promoting Porto is under way in London, with adverts on 9 billboards and 48 digital mupis at Liverpool Street, City Thameslink, Blackfriars, Cannon Street and Fenchurch Street railway stations.

At the start of next week, TAP is launching a campaign promoting Porto in Barcelona, with adverts on dozens of buses, mupis and the video wall at the airport.
