TAP helps Balodiren with a charity auction

TAP has teamed up once more with the online charity fundraising site, eSolidar. The 11th TAP Charity Auction will take place from 21 May to 2 June, with the money raised going to the Balodiren Association, which defends the rights of immigrants and helps migrants integrate into their host societies, supporting the needy and providing social and humanitarian assistance.

The charity auction of items removed from TAP aircraft during the modernisation process of the fleet (retrofitting) such as executive and economy class seats, tables and side panels from inside the aircraft will be open for national and international bidders.

All the money raised at the auction will be donated to the Balodiren Association to help it with its project to raise awareness of, prevent and fight against female genital mutilation (FGM).

The eradication of this serious, harmful and criminal practice against the rights of children, girls and women, is urgent. Not only does FGM cause physical damage with potentially serious consequences for reproductive health; it also causes life-long psychological damage.

For this project, Balodiren needs to raise €6,010 to cover the cost of all human resources, communications, field expenses, coordination and support materials.

The Balodiren charity auctions start on the eSolidar page, https://www.esolidar.com/b/tapresponsabilidadesocial on 21 May and ends on 2 June. Around 40 lots will available for bidding, ranging from executive and economy class seats to galleys, cupboards, panels and other aviation related items.

Also involved in this initiative is EAD (Empresa de Arquivo de Documentação), a market leader in Portugal and pioneering document management solutions provider which, as part of its social responsibility measures, has provided premises where the lots are stored.

This is a fantastic opportunity to own an exclusive piece of Portuguese aviation and help support children at risk who are in urgent need of help.
