The Program was recently renewed and extended to more institutions, which made it possible for the application of entities with headquarters, not only in Portugal, but also in Brazil and in the African countries where we operate. However, the impact and duration of the Covid-19 pandemic imposed the postponement of new partnerships, and the imposed restrictions limited the execution of some projects. Even so, and throughout the 1st semester of 2021, we were able to provide support to more than 30 airline tickets.
We are always looking to support good causes and encourage our employees to take part in them. Whether on a regular basis or as a one-off, and regardless of our field of activity, our goal is always to make a difference.
However, and given the worldwide context that followed, and still remains today, the way in which we relate and live as a community has changed, putting on hold since March 2021 volunteering initiatives on hold, but not our solidarity.
Campaigns and Donations
We believe it is by strengthening our values that our impact on and contribution to the development of society can be maximised, in complete alignment with our business.
In the first semester of 2021, in support of the most deprived communities and the social organizations that help them daily, we donated about 76.000 foods and discontinued material from our operation. In total, we reached 52 social organizations.
Juntos por Moçambique (Together for Mozambique)
Following the destruction caused in Mozambique by Cyclone Idai in March 2019, we organised a campaign to help support the country through the donation of miles. Yet again, our TAP Miles&Go Clients contributed with solidarity miles for all the organisations involved; miles that were later used by rescue missions and for the transportation of auxiliary cargo.
