The Program was recently renewed and extended to more institutions, which made it possible for the application of entities with headquarters, not only in Portugal, but also in Brazil and in the African countries where we operate. Assistência Médica Internacional (AMI), Helpo and Terra dos Sonhos are the three new organizations that will benefit from this TAP social responsibility initiative, and which will thus join the six partners that are included in the program until the end of 2022.
We are always looking to support good causes and encourage our employees to take part in them. Whether on a regular basis or as a one-off, and regardless of our field of activity, our goal is always to make a difference.
However, given the current context, the way we relate and live as a community has changed, and this has put face-to-face volunteer initiatives on hold. Nevertheless, it was possible to close the year 2021 with a very special holiday season initiative - a charity event involving Lisbon and Porto's CASA and the collaboration of 15 TAP volunteers from our headquarters and the Porto office. Thanks to the miles donated by TAP Miles&Go Clients, we were able to present TAP Store gifts to 68 children that are supported by CASA - Centro de Apoio ao Sem-Abrigo (Homeless Support Center).
Campaigns and Donations
We believe it is by strengthening our values that our impact on and contribution to the development of society can be maximised, in complete alignment with our business.
In the year of 2021, in support of the most deprived communities and the social organizations that help them daily, we donated about 76.000 foods and discontinued material from our operation. In total, we reached more than 75 social organizations. We have also supported the following campaigns: IRS Solidário (Charitable Income Tax), Esperança para Cabo Delgado (Hope for Cabo Delgado), Campanha Especial TAP Donate Miles (Special TAP Donate Miles Campaign), Giving Tuesday Portugal, and Natal TAP Store (TAP Store Christmas).
