TAP brings aid to Rio Grande do Sul on humanitarian flight

Airline transports more than 11 tons of goods to help victims.

On Tuesday, May 28, TAP Air Portugal will carry out a special flight exclusively for the transport of more than 11 tons of humanitarian aid collected in Portugal to help the victims of the disaster in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul.

The humanitarian flight by TAP and the Portuguese government will take place in a cargo-only Airbus A330-900 neo, with a crew of two pilots and two cabin crew members specially assigned to this flight.

The flight departs from Lisbon airport and is bound for São Paulo. It will carry basic necessities such as diapers, clothing and toiletries.

In total, there are 1195 boxes. They weigh 11,317 kilos and have a volume of 100 cubic meters.

In this way, the company is bringing to Brazil, in the form of humanitarian aid, the solidarity and sorrow it has expressed from the outset for all those affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul.

TAP Air Portugal also reaffirms its commitment to continue being the most Brazilian European airline, offering 96 weekly flights, with direct connections to 11 capitals in the country.

The humanitarian flight will depart from Lisbon this Tuesday at 10:10 a.m. local time and is scheduled to arrive in São Paulo at 5:00 p.m. local time.
