TAP received another Airbus A321neo

TAP received today in Lisbon another Airbus A321neo and so continues with the goal of modernizing its fleet.

The Airbus A321neo CS-TJN is the third plane to arrive at TAP this month alone, in a total of 37 planes that will land at the Company until the end of the year. Overall, until 2025, TAP will receive 71 new aircraft, thus becoming one of the most modern fleets worldwide. The newest TAP aircraft has 198 seats, more comfort and more modern. With significant reductions in fuel consumption, being 15 per cent more efficient than the previous model, it allows a saving of 1500 tonnes of fuel per year and a reduction of 4700 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

The new aircrafts that the Company ordered from Airbus are, in addition to the A321neo, the A321neo Long Range, A320neo and the A330-900neo, a state-of-the-art aircraft of which TAP is the world's first operator. The fleet modernization with the most advanced aircrafts available on the market will allow TAP to increase its offer and expand to new destinations, enhancing its competitiveness. In North America, San Francisco, Washington and Chicago are the new destinations already available, joining New York - JFK, New York - Newark, Boston and Miami, departing from Lisbon and New York - Newark departing from Porto, as well as Toronto, Canada.

Naples, Tenerife, Tel Aviv, Dublin and Basel are other new destinations that TAP has already announced for 2019.
