TAP temporarily reduces its operations

TAP will temporarily reduce its operations, a decision that is being taken after successive announcements of restrictions, as the main containment measure for COVID-19, by several States in the geographies in which the Portuguese Company operates, combined with the sharp drop in demand, factors that have caused innumerable successive flight cancellations and route suspensions, which have been communicated by TAP to passengers and the general public.

In the last 24 hours there have been significant developments in the aforementioned conditions and, as a result, TAP will significantly reduce their operations and ground a large part of its fleet.

TAP will ensure flights on all possible routes, in order to ensure its mission of carrying its customers to their families.

Antonoaldo Neves, TAP CEO, ensures that “we are working on the continuity of our business, confident that we will return soon to our usual pace of activity, always focusing on the future, sustainability and growth of our TAP. We thank our employees for their commitment and sense of mission at a time when everyone has done their best to take care of our customers and of Portugal.”

Customer Information

Customers affected by flight cancellations in this period should go to the website refunds.flytap.com, to get a voucher in the amount paid for the purchase of the ticket, so that they can easily decide where and when they want to travel.

This voucher allows the Custmes to travel within one year to any destination operated by TAP, booking at www.flytap.com, without contacting the Contact Center.

The situation is developing very dynamically. TAP updates all information regarding the impact of the Coronavirus outbreak on its operations at https://www.flytap.com/en-pt/latest-updates and asks its Customers - with flights not yet canceled - to consult the information about the status of their flight before heading to the airport.
