TAP helps "CASA" with a charity auction

This Friday 16 April, TAP is starting a new charity auction for CASA - Centro de Apoio ao Sem Abrigo (Support Centre for the Homeless), which provides food support for the homeless and families in need.

In all, 20 items are going to be auctioned that have flown around the world on TAP aircraft: 15 economy class triple seats and five executive class triple seats. Bidding is open until 23 April on the eSolidar charity fund collection platform at https://www.esolidar.com/b/tapresponsabilidadesocial.

Feeding the homeless and families in need is the underlying idea behind CASA's work and it plays a decisive role in combating hunger in the most vulnerable communities.
With this in mind, the proceeds from the new TAP charity auction will go towards buying meal preparation equipment, namely a cooker and/or an industrial oven. This will allow CASA to maintain the quality and logistical capacity for preparing around 700 meals a day at the Centre, which is located in Lisbon.

Although CASA's central structure is in Lisbon, its overall management is based on a network of 10 delegations in various parts of the country, which have more than 1,700 volunteers, partners and benefactors, enabling a daily and continuous response to the almost 2,000 homeless people and more than 6,000 beneficiaries that the Centre supports in Portugal.

This is one way that TAP continues its social commitment to the most vulnerable people and families. This year alone, the Company has already supported more than 40 charitable organisations through its charity initiatives, with direct impact on the national and international community.
