TAP Air Portugal partners with Capital One for Airline’s Loyalty Programme

Capital One Miles Customers Can Transfer their Capital One Miles to TAP Miles&Go

TAP Air Portugal has partnered with Capital One. Starting today, Venture, VentureOne, Spark Miles and Spark Miles Select customers can now transfer their Capital One miles to the TAP Miles&Go Programme, which can be redeemed not only on TAP flights, but also on flights of other Star Alliance member airlines.

Capital One is on a mission for its customers – bringing them great products, rewards, service, and access to unique and unforgettable experiences they are passionate about. Capital One is a diversified bank that offers products and services to individuals, small businesses and commercial clients. It uses technology, innovation and interaction to provide its consumers with products and services to meet their needs. To learn more visit capitalone.com. The partnership gives Capital One customers the option to transfer points to the airline’s TAP Miles&Go Loyalty Programme.

Thus, TAP enters what is currently the most valuable market for loyalty programs in the world.

This partnership is also another important step towards consolidating TAP's presence in the North American market, which is already the third largest market for the Portuguese national company. The agreement is concluded through Ascenda, the world’s largest bank - travel loyalty point exchange network.

By August, the Portuguese airline will operate 51 flights a week between Portugal and US and Canada cities: Boston, Newark, Chicago, Washington, San Francisco, Toronto, and Montreal.

TAP is also re-ensuring connectivity between the Americas and Europe. Improved connectivity means that a passenger traveling from North America to Europe, for example from Newark, can in less than four hours connect to multiple European cities or, if desired, make a stop in Portugal and enjoy offers and discounts on experiences provided by TAP's Stopover Program.

Additionally, in view of the relevant restrictions on civil aviation due to the new coronavirus and being always attentive and ready to respond to the needs of its Customers, TAP has been implementing several measures to protect Customers in the policy of the TAP Miles&Go Programme, which offers more flexibility and benefits. Among the measures already implemented, we highlight the extension of the validity of miles, the extension of the Client's status for another 12 months, as well as flexibility in canceling and changing flights. The Company continues to dynamically monitor the evolution of this situation and to take the necessary measures to minimize the strong impact of the current situation very quickly.
