TAP is Europe’s leading Airline to Africa as well as to South America

TAP Air Portugal was awarded last Saturday Europe’s Leading Airline to Africa as well as Europe’s Leading Airline to South America, at the gala ceremony of the World Travel Awards. Described by some as the “Oscars” of the industry, the event took place at the Hilton Mallorca Galatzo, in Mallorca, Spain.

According to Christine Ourmières-Widener, CEO of TAP, “these international awards, which cover particularly important markets for the Airline, are the recognition of the solid recovery work that everyone at TAP has been doing. In addition to being an encouragement, they also help us to define and continuously improve the service of excellence that we intend to provide to our Customers, based on the well-known Portuguese friendliness and hospitality.”

Voted among some of the best-known airlines worldwide, TAP’s election resulted from an online voting process, mainly by trade professionals in travel and tourism around the world, such as travel agents, operators, and tourism organizations from more than one hundred countries, and by the general public as well.

Launched in 1993, the World Travel Awards were created with the aim of acknowledging, rewarding, and celebrating the pursuit of excellence in all travel and tourism industry sectors across the globe.

The trophies now won by TAP join those already collected in the World Travel Awards’ previous editions, such as Europe’s Leading Airline to both Africa and South America every year between 2014 and 2021, World’s Leading Airline to Africa in 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, and World’s Leading Airline to South America in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

TAP’s Inflight Magazine “UP”, discontinued due to the pandemic, was also elected Europe’s Leading Inflight Magazine between 2015 and 2020, and World’s Leading Inflight Magazine in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
