TAP's new business class amenity kits take Portugal to the world

In partnership with Benamôr.

TAP is now offering business class passengers a new amenity kit, the result of a partnership with the historic Portuguese brand Benamôr, which has been creating botanical cosmetic recipes since 1925.

This partnership reinforces the Portuguese spirit that both companies are proud to promote around the world.  The new amenity kit offers TAP passengers Benamôr's high-quality hand creams. The kits also include earplugs, a toothbrush and toothpaste, socks and an eye mask.

Sustainability is a concern and priority for both companies, so the materials used are rPET, produced from recycled plastic bottles and other PET waste. rPET is just as good as virgin polyester, but requires fewer resources to produce and saves up to 60% of energy and more than 30% of CO2 emissions.

The partnership between TAP and Benamôr invites passengers to discover some of the iconic symbols of Portugal and Benamôr.

The kits come in four different themes and colors:

  • Laranjinha: the bitter orange was brought to Europe by the Portuguese during the Age of Discovery. Even today, in many parts of the world, the word "Orange" is synonymous with "Portugal".
  • Nata: one of the most popular and traditional Portuguese sweets. They are part of the country's culture and one of the great gastronomic pleasures that Portugal offers the world.
  • Gordíssimo: made from the Shea tree, which is found in the African savannahs, a reference to the Age of Discovery.
  • Alecrim: rosemary is one of the most popular aromatic herbs in Portugal for its culinary, medicinal and cosmetic properties. This fragrant plant is believed to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits.

Benamôr was founded in 1925 by a mysterious apothecary (predecessor of modern pharmacists) who created miraculous ointments in his laboratory at 189 Campo Grande in Lisbon. His unique beauty recipes were developed and prepared by hand, mixing natural ingredients from Portuguese botany with seductive perfumes. Packaged in art deco tubes, they were an instant hit with the beauties of Lisbon society, including Queen Dona Amélia, who remained loyal to the brand throughout her life.

The brand has created some of Portugal's most famous beauty recipes, including the Creme de Rosto, which contains rose extract to perfect the skin and give it an immediate radiant look, and the Alantoíne hand cream.

With this partnership, TAP not only provides its customers with high-quality Portuguese products, but also fulfills its role of promoting the best Portuguese brands and products internationally.
