TAP Air Portugal shone once again at the World Travel Awards, considered the “Oscars” of world tourism. It was voted World's Leading Airline to Africa and World's Leading Airline to South America at the 29th edition of these awards, which were held this Friday at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel, in Muscat, Oman.
The World Travel Awards presented to TAP recognize the renewal that the airline is undergoing and the commitment of its teams and crews to improving the travel experience for its passengers.
These awards have been presented since 1993 and were established to recognize, reward and celebrate excellence in all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry. Nominated among some of the most renowned air carriers, TAP was elected through an online voting process by professionals in the Travel and Tourism industry, namely travel agents, tour operators and organizations from over 100 countries, as well as the general public.
The trophies now won by TAP join those already collected in the World Travel Awards’ previous editions, such as Europe’s Leading Airline to both Africa and South America every year between 2014 and 2022, World’s Leading Airline to Africa in 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, and World’s Leading Airline to South America in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
