The Portuguese national airline was once again awarded at the World Travel Awards.
TAP Air Portugal shone once again at the World Travel Awards, considered the "Oscars" of world tourism. The awards for World's Leading Airline to Africa and World's Leading Airline to South America were presented to TAP at the 30th edition of these awards, at a gala held this Friday, December 1, at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The World Travel Awards for World Leader presented to TAP recognize the renewal that the Company is undergoing and the commitment of its teams and crews to improving the travel experience of its passengers.
Running for 30 editions, these awards have been presented since 1993 and were established with the aim of recognizing, rewarding and celebrating excellence in all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry. Nominated among some of the most renowned air carriers, TAP was chosen through an online voting process of mostly travel and tourism professionals, namely travel agents, operators and tourism organizations from more than 100 countries, as well as the general public.
The trophies awarded to TAP this year are added to the awards already won in previous editions. The Portuguese national airline was chosen by the World Travel Awards as the World's Leading Airline to Africa in 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, as well as the World's Leading Airline to South America in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. TAP was also considered the Leading European Airline for Africa and the Leading European Airline for South America continuously between 2014 and 2023.
